Abstract | The purpose of the work is to study and evaluate the results of the success of the adaptive potential of tulips and determine their prospects for cultivation in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The article investigates and evaluates the success of the introduction and decorative features of tulip varieties (Tulipa L.) in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine of the mid-flowering group: classes Triumph tulips: Dynasty, Carola, Memphis, Shirley dream, Holland Beauty, Alibi and Darwin hybrids: Golden Apeldoorn, Oxford Wonder, Hakuun, Salmon Impression, World's Favorite. The study was conducted on the basis of the nursery of the Department of Horticulture and Park Management of the Uman National University of Horticulture during 2021–2024. It was determined that the studied tulip varieties are adapted to new natural and climatic conditions that do not affect their decorativeness, growth, development and formation of daughter bulbs. They are able to withstand adverse factors, such as drought resistance and frost resistance, and are also resistant to bacterial and fungal pathogens of viral origin. It was established that studies assessing the success of the introduction of tulip varieties (Tulipa L.) in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine of the medium-flowering group, namely the classes Triumph tulips and Darwin hybrids, showed that they belong to promising and very promising varieties. It was studied that the very promising varieties with a score of 45 points can be attributed to Memphis, Golden Apeldoorn and World’s Favorite. The studies also showed that the promising varieties that scored from 35 to 42 points include: Shirley dream, Alibi, Holland Beauty, Dynasty, Carola, Salmon Impression, Hakuun, Oxford Wonder. The conducted assessment of quantitative and qualitative decorative features of the studied varieties showed wide variability in the following features: plant height, leaf blade area, calyx height, flower color. The results of the conducted studies of tulip varieties (Tulipa L.) indicate that all of them are, to one degree or another, valuable and promising for ornamental gardening and floriculture. | ||
