To support the editorial and publishing process, an article processing charge (author fee) is applied for manuscripts accepted for publication.
Author fees are used to cover costs associated with the editorial and publishing process, including: editorial support of the manuscript; organisation and administration of the peer review process; technical support and operation of the publishing platform; preparation and formatting of the article for publication; long-term archiving and preservation of materials; dissemination of the article through scholarly information systems and databases.
The author fee for articles of up to 10 pages in the Collection’s format is UAH 1,200 (approximate equivalent of USD 30). For manuscripts of a greater length, an additional fee of UAH 50 per extra page is applied.
Payment of the author fee is made on the basis of an invoice sent to the author only after the manuscript has successfully undergone the peer review procedure and has been officially accepted for publication.
Payment of the author fee in no way influences editorial decisions, peer review outcomes or the scholarly assessment of the manuscript.
In certain cases, authors may be exempt from paying the author fee. In particular, third-level higher education students (doctoral/PhD students) studying on a state-funded basis are exempt, provided that:
The editorial board reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the acceptance of the manuscript for free publication after the double-blind peer review procedure.
Together with the article, third-level higher education students (Doctor of Philosophy) on a state-funded basis must submit a certificate from their place of study confirming their state-funded status.
The publication is independent of commercial advertising or sponsorship that may affect editorial independence. The decision to publish is made solely on the basis of scholarly criteria – regardless of the source of research funding or the author’s institution.
The editorial board does not make monetary payments to authors for providing and placing articles in the publication.
The publication operates under a mixed (institutional-author) funding model. Uman National University provides institutional support: the material and technical base, organisational support of the editorial process, and the development of publishing infrastructure. An additional source of funding is author fees for publication, which are directed towards covering the costs associated with editing, typesetting and dissemination of materials. This model ensures the stable functioning of the Collection and the support of its scholarly and publishing activities.
