"Collection of Scientific Works of Uman National University" upholds the principles of academic integrity, transparency and objectivity in the review process. In order to ensure the impartiality of the editorial process, all authors, reviewers and editors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
A conflict of interest may arise when an author, reviewer or member of the editorial board has financial, professional, scholarly, personal or other relationships with individuals or legal entities that may affect the objectivity of the preparation, review or editorial decision regarding a scholarly publication.
In order to ensure transparency and trust in the scholarly process, all conflicts of interest must be declared and noted at the end of each article in the form of an appropriate statement.
When submitting an article, authors must inform the editorial board of any actual or potential conflict of interest that may affect the results of the research or their interpretation. In the absence of a conflict of interest, authors should include the following statement at the end of the article: "The author(s) declare(s) that no conflict of interest exists regarding the research results and the publication of this article".
Reviewers must decline to review a manuscript if there are circumstances between them and the authors that may affect the impartiality of the assessment (joint research activities, professional dependence, personal relationships, competition with their own research, personal interest or bias that may affect objectivity, etc.). In such a situation, the reviewer is obliged to immediately notify the editorial board and decline further processing of the article.
Editors must exercise particular caution, as they make the final decisions regarding publication. If there are any financial, professional or personal connections that may affect their impartiality, editors must voluntarily recuse themselves from the review of the relevant manuscript. This applies to cases where an editor collaborates with an author, has joint research projects, works at the same institution, is a co-author of the article, or where their participation in the process may be perceived as biased. In such situations, the article is transferred to another editor or an external expert is invited.
In the event of a conflict of interest being identified, the editorial board may request additional information from the authors or take measures to resolve such a conflict. Concealment of a conflict of interest may serve as grounds for refusal to publish the material or retraction of an already published article.
The implementation of a conflict of interest resolution policy is aimed at ensuring the transparency of the editorial process, enhancing trust in the results of scholarly research and maintaining high standards of academic ethics.
