| Abstract | The article is devoted to a detailed analysis of the current condition and degree of preservation of five historical parks in the Cherkasy region, listed as sites of national importance within the nature conservation fund. The assessment of Velykoburimskyi, Kozachanskyi, Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi, and Talnivskyi parks, along with the Early 19th-Century Park, was conducted using methodologies that comprehensively cover preservation indicators. These indicators were evaluated on a six-point scale, ranging from 0 (completely lost) to 6 (fully preserved). In Talnivskyi and Kozachanskyi parks, individual ancient specimens of local species are present, including Picea abies L., Pinus nigra J.F. Arnold, Tilia cordata Mill., and Populus alba L. In Velykoburimskyi Park, ancient specimens of Larix decidua and Populus tremula L. (up to 200 years old) have been preserved, including aspens with fused trunks, as well as Quercus robur L. (over 150 years old) – including one planted by Bohdan Khmelnytskyi – and Acer saccharum Marsh. In Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi Park, notable specimens include mature Pinus sylvestris L. (over 200 years old), Quercus robur L., Tilia cordata Mill., and Ulmus glabra Huds. (over 100 years old), as well as the relict tree Ginkgo biloba L. The analysis of architectural structures in the studied park monuments of landscape architecture of Cherkasy region indicates varying degrees of their preservation – from functioning museum complexes to ruins. The result of a comprehensive assessment of park monuments of landscape architecture based on the main components characterizing the degree of park preservation is the determination of their potential for conservation and restoration. Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi Park is the best-preserved among the studied sites (scoring 43 points). The complex features unique rare and ancient trees, architectural structures, and several archaeologically significant areas. The Early 19th-Century Park (29 points) and Velykoburimskyi Park (26 points) require protection and restoration. For these parks, it is necessary to develop a set of measures to preserve their spatial composition, architectural elements, and other areas of cultural and scientific value. For Talnivskyi (18 points) and Kozachanskyi (19 points) parks, the priority should be the restoration of their planning structure and recreational potential | ||
