Abstract |
Modern challenges of global development are driving the growing importance of social responsibility in the agricultural sector. Agribusiness, as a key driver of the economy, plays an important role in shaping a balanced interaction between economic interests, social needs, and environmental sustainability. The relevance of the research lies in the need to create effective mechanisms for implementing social responsibility, which will contribute to the modernization of the agricultural sector and ensure the harmonious development of rural communities. The implementation of such approaches is a strategic prerequisite for the long-term stability of the agricultural economy.
The purpose of the research lies in developing comprehensive system of mechanisms for developing social responsibility of agribusiness entities while taking into account industry specifics and challenges of sustainable development. Tasks: to analyze existing approaches to social responsibility mechanisms; to formulate the author's definition of mechanisms; to structure the system of mechanisms according to the functional principle; to develop a model of interaction of mechanisms.
The methodological basis of the study was a systems approach. Theoretical analysis of scientific sources, structural-functional analysis to classify mechanisms for the development of social responsibility, and systems modeling to develop a model of their interaction were used.
Research results. The author's definition of mechanisms for the development of social responsibility is proposed as a complex system of interconnected tools, processes and strategies that ensure the integration of socially significant practices into the activities of agricultural enterprises. A system of mechanisms has been structured with six areas being distinguished: organizational and financial, motivational, institutional, information and communication, educational and personnel, and partnership. Implementation tools and target benchmarks are specified for each mechanism. A model of interaction of mechanisms has been developed, which demonstrates direct, feedback, and indirect influence. The model reflects the influence of external factors (state policy, international standards, stakeholder expectations) on the functioning of the system. Four types of synergistic effects have been identified: resource, competence, time synergy, and multiplier effect.
Conclusions. The study identified the need in a systems approach for implementation of corporate social responsibility practices in the agricultural sector. The suggested concept allows to overcome the fragmentation of existing approaches and provide integration of socially significant practices into the activities of agricultural enterprises. The experience of Ukrainian agroholdings confirms the effectiveness of the integrated use of mechanisms, when their synergistic interaction provides higher results. The adaptability of the system of mechanisms to external challenges is important.
