Abstract Goal. To create a plantation of sakura species, forms and varieties at a certain time and place and to consider it as a separate structural unit called a “mono-garden”. Methods. The research was conducted in Uman, Cherkasy region with plants of the genus Prunus L., varieties Amanogawa, Kanzan, Kiku Shidare, Royal Burgundy. Results. It has been determined that sakura forms and varieties are versatile because they fit into almost any garden style. They look great both in a single planting and in a composition with other ornamental crops. It should be noted that a tree planted next to small conifers, against the background of an emerald lawn, next to a pond or small evergreen boxwood, euonymus, and other shrubs looks very nice. That is why sakura is an indispensable element of the decor of oriental-style gardens. Dwarf forms can be successfully grown in pots for several years, after which they can be transplanted into the open ground. It has been proven that caring for sakura is not difficult, and the incredible beauty of the flowering tree turns the garden landscape into a paradise. It is analyzed that the most suitable for growing in landscape compositions in Ukraine are the sakura varieties Kanzan, Shiro Fugen, Royal Burgundy, Oshidori, Fukuband, Kiku Shidare and Royal Beauty. In order to create mono-gardens with an extended flowering period, it is advisable to select sakura varieties in which the flowering phase begins early, but its duration is shortest, and varieties in which flowering begins later and its duration is longer. Thus, given the biological properties, high decorative qualities of sakura and its resistance to urban conditions, we can conclude that it is a promising crop for the formation of mono-orchards and the creation of other ornamental plantings in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine.
