| Abstract | The article substantiates the essence and role of customs control as one of the key factors in preventing Ukraine's economic security. A theoretical justification of economic security was carried out, its components were highlighted. The place of customs control in the economic security system has been determined, general and distinctive features of customs security in relation to economic security have been identified. Attention is focused on the modern features of ensuring the customs and economic security of Ukraine. It has been proven that customs security and economic security partially overlap and complement each other, but are separate concepts. Customs control is one of the important components of the management activities of state governing bodies in the field of customs implementation, which contributes to improving not only customs, but also national security. It is justified that customs control occupies a leading place among the customs elements, since the use of this instrument ensures the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to customs by the State Migration Service of Ukraine, in particular, the effectiveness of combating smuggling and violations of customs rules, filling the revenue part of the State Budget of Ukraine, state regulation of foreign economic activity, customs statistics. It is proved that customs security is an integral part of the economic security of the state, which should primarily be directed to the protection of national economic interests and domestic producers. It is proved that economic security is a complex multifactorial category that determines the level of security of the country in the political and economic space, acts as a balance between reserve and lack of economically sound actions and events in society. This situation can be achieved when the level of dependence of the state on other countries, as well as the level of aggravation of the socio-economic, environmental and political situation does not exceed the limit under which the economic potential is weakened, the quality and standard of living of citizens are significantly reduced, and national sovereignty is lost. Neglect of economic security can lead to negative consequences: bankruptcy of enterprises, displacement from the domestic market of domestic commodity producers, undermining the system of life support of the nation, destruction of domestic production. Ways to increase customs control in the context of counteracting fiscal risks and violation of customs rules, taking into account foreign experience and modern requirements, are proposed. | ||
