| Abstract | The article examines academic integrity as a key component of the quality assurance system in higher education under the conditions of globalization and Ukraine’s integration into the European educational space. It is emphasized that adherence to the principles of honesty, responsibility, objectivity, transparency, and respect for intellectual property forms the foundation of trust in the outcomes of educational and research activities. The paper analyzes scientific approaches to defining the concept of “academic integrity” and its structural components in the works of Ukrainian and international scholars. Particular attention is paid to the role of Uman National University in fostering a culture of academic responsibility, developing effective internal policies for preventing violations, and promoting preventive measures among students. The authors conduct a comparative analysis of academic integrity practices in various countries. In particular, the experience of Poland is highlighted, where academic misconduct is openly discussed in student and media spaces; France, where ethical principles are regulated by the Bucharest Declaration on Ethical Values and Principles of Higher Education in Europe; Sweden, where a national system for monitoring academic violations operates; and the United States, where academic integrity is deeply integrated into university educational systems. The Ukrainian context is described as a stage of institutional development through the activities of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA), the introduction of anti-plagiarism systems, the adoption of university honor codes, and educational outreach for students and faculty. It is concluded that fostering an academic culture requires a systematic approach combining regulatory frameworks, educational practices, and social support. Ensuring academic integrity serves as a prerequisite for enhancing the competitiveness of Ukrainian universities, strengthening scientific potential, and advancing integration into the European and global educational spaces. | ||
