Abstract Generalization of foreign experience in the development of rural areas and their social infrastructure allows us to conclude that all leading countries adhere to the principle of prioritizing agriculture and rural areas in strategic national programs. All state initiatives in the field of supporting rural areas and their infrastructure are provided with a sufficiently high level of financial support for their implementation. Particularly high guarantees are provided when ensuring the financing of social programs in rural areas, the construction of engineering and social infrastructure facilities. Financial support from the state in foreign countries is of a comprehensive nature and compensates for a significant part of the costs of commodity producers for the production of agricultural products, which guarantees them a high income. The development of social facilities in rural areas in leading countries is given increased attention, where priority measures are supported to ensure employment of the rural population, regulate the level of well-being of rural residents, build roads, improve housing, provide engineering infrastructure services, develop education and healthcare, and develop tourism. In leading countries of the world, the state influences the development of rural areas and their social infrastructure on the basis of the implementation of agrarian policy, in which one of the main tasks is to ensure a consistently high income and quality of life of the rural population. This task is achieved through reliable targeted financing and effective state support for agricultural producers. We believe that foreign experience in managing the development of social infrastructure in rural areas can be used in the program of post-war restoration of rural areas, provided that the national specifics of the Ukrainian village and the devastating consequences of the war are taken into account
