Abstract | The study convincingly demonstrates the interdependence of economic performance and social effectiveness as pivotal components of the overall success of tourism enterprises. The authors emphasize that an objective assessment of hospitality-industry entities is impossible without the concurrent analysis of financial indicators—profitability, return on assets, liquidity — and social parameters such as job creation, fair wages, and contributions to local-community development. Practical recommendations are structured within a step-by-step performance-management model that includes strategic diagnostics and benchmarking, the creation of an integrated indicator database, scenario modelling that accounts for seasonal and crisis factors, the implementation of a monitoring system, people-centred management practices, and continuous staff-training programmes. The paper delineates a range of pressing issues linked to the analysis of external (macroeconomic, political, market) and internal (organisational, resource, human-capital) factors affecting enterprise efficiency. It underlines the need to design and implement a comprehensive set of managerial measures aimed at enhancing the socio-economic performance of firms operating in both regional and national tourism marke Within the study, core criteria, indicators, and parameters are identified to ensure objective and representative evaluation of the sector’s economic efficiency. Special attention is devoted to developing an integrated system of metrics that captures financial stability, social responsibility, investment in human capital, and the innovative activity of enterprises. The findings are complemented by practical methodological guidelines for improving management processes through the staged efficiency-assessment model, which can serve as a tool for strategic planning and decision-making in the highly volatile tourism market. The proposed approach enables enterprises to adapt to contemporary challenges, strengthen their competitive advantages, and enhance the social significance of their operations. | ||
