Main characteristics of chicken droppings biogas digestate

Abstract Aims. Detailed characteristics of by-products of chicken droppings biogas production. Methods. Digestate samples were collected in the separate unit Biogas Ladyzhyn Vinnytsia Poultry Farm LLC. The analysis of their agrochemical composition was carried out in specialized, accredited and certified laboratories of Zahidnyi Bug PP(private entrepreneur), Kompaniia Zemlerob LLC, and Agrofirma Kolos LLC. Results and conclusions. The development of biogas production increases every year. At the same time, the production of various types of digestate, which can be used in agriculture as organic fertilizer products, is increasing. However, the conditions of their use and effectiveness are not sufficiently studied. The proposed constituent characteristics of digestates allow to classify them in more detail according to various characteristics, such as: general, physical-mechanical, organoleptic, chemical, thermophysical, sanitary-bacteriological, etc. Digestate has a high content of macro- and microelements in terms of dry matter and can be a valuable fertilizer, taking into account the fact that it should be disposed of at a small distance from the biogas plant. At the same time, each separate digestate is a separate fertilizer with its own unique macro- and microelement composition and content of organic substances. It requires to be preliminary analysed in agrochemical laboratories. And on the basis of the obtained results and the calculations carried out, it is possible to determine the permissible application doses for a certain agricultural crop. Currently, there are no restrictions on the sale of digestate as a fertilizer of organic origin. Therefore, it is necessary to continue research on the maximum doses of its application, effectiveness for various agricultural crops.
