In the XIX – the beginning 20th century people of different nationalities lived in Odessa: Ukrainians, Russians, Belarusians, Italians, French, Jews, Bulgarians, Armenians, Poles, Turks, Greeks, Germans, Englishmen, Spaniards, etc. This was facilitated by favorable conditions for doing business and trade. The main goal of the research is to study and decipher the international code of Odessa parks. The scientific research uses the historical method, methods of analogies, synthesis and analysis, methods of bibliographic and natural research.
The symbolic motifs of the various national information codes can be explored in the following elements of the parks. So jugs and towels with rhombuses in the decoration of the Textiles pavilion and various goods in Dyukiv Park are a Ukrainian symbol of preservation, savings, happiness, abundance and prosperity. In the park named after T. G. Shevchenko cap of Volodymyr Monomakh at the top of Oleksandrivska Column acts as a Slavic symbol of continuity, faith, and renewal of the world. Lanzheronivska arch in the park named after T. G. Shevchenko reflects French motifs in the architectural decor: angels are a symbol of blessing and love, torches are the light of truth and truth, palm leaves are a symbol of victory, and laurel leaves are a symbol of glory. The planning scheme of the Palais Royal imitates the French element étoile, the symbol of the sun. The sculpture "Cupid and Psyche" in the Palais-Royal stands as a symbol of love and devotion. Turkish symbols in the Istanbul Park are red tulips in the parterres - this is a symbol of love and recognition of the brotherhood between Odessa and Istanbul. Flowerbeds with the image of the amulet of Nazar are a symbol of protection, and the small form is a symbol of the unity of East and West, different cultures and peoples. The Fountain of Beginnings in Greek Park represents the idea of the creation of the world. Sculptures of corses with an archaic smile are a Greek symbol of harmony and restrained joy of life. The main idea underlying the Odessa parks is the unity of different cultures and peoples.
