The article examines the category of "strategy", its relationship with enterprise development. The essence of strategic planning, its principles and stages are determined. The relevance and importance of the study of the concepts of "strategic management", "strategic planning" and their role in the activities of enterprises are also determined. The types of strategic planning are analyzed, the essence of strategic, tactical and operational planning for enterprise development is revealed, their efficiency is proved. Strategic planning provides the basis for decision making. Knowing what the organization wants to achieve helps to clarify the most appropriate courses of action. Theoretical approaches to defining the basic concepts of strategic development of enterprises are considered.
The proposed implementation of strategic management of the enterprise is an urgent need, which is due to increased competition. Namely, the formation of staff with a high level of productive abilities, capable of effective interaction within the workforce, requires considerable time. Therefore, along with improving the current personnel management, it is advisable to implement strategic management in enterprises, which can ensure the formation of high quality capital of enterprises and combine all human resources to implement competitive strategy of the enterprise, achieve competitive advantage.
Based on the generalization and analysis of approaches, the author's definition of development strategy and the mechanism of development strategy formation is proposed. A detailed analysis of the concepts of development and strategy revealed significant features of the mechanism of formation of management strategies and enterprise development. The results obtained in the research process, which are reflected in this article, can become a theoretical basis for conducting promising research to substantiate and formalize scientific and methodological approaches to the formation of a mechanism for developing a strategy for enterprise development
