Bank management as the foundation of efficient managing of a commercial bank

Abstract It was found that bank management is characterized as the management of relations interlinked with the establishing and usage of financial resources, the combination of financial management and human resource management in the banking industry. It was determined that the current development of banking management is affected by some macroeconomic factors. In national science, the following types of banking management have been distinguished: financial, strategic and human resource management. It is stated that the financial management is based on the development of a financial and economic outline for a credit establishment. It should be stressed that strategic management is of great importance in the search of transcending market competition in the banking industry. Staff management refers to the management of human resources based on the personnel policy of a commercial bank, the purpose of which is to improve the skills of staff, labor efficiency, adaptation to new technologies, and more. Special attention is given to the fact that the activity of a bank establishment is aimed both at making a profit and ensuring the safety of funds raised from investors. On the other hand, functioning risks of a commercial bank are identified. An efficient system of bank management has been created, and it has been determined that it requires an individual bank monitoring and its retrospective assessment according to a system of indicators. This paper has clearly shown that in banking management, the commercial bank regulations consist in the commercial bank's compliance with the established requirements and standards by the regulatory authorities. The distinguishing of external and internal types of bank monitoring is proposed. The following functions of banking management have been established: implementation of the technological cycle in banking; determination of the development policy of a commercial bank; definition of the activity purposes of commercial bank. It was determined that the advantages of CAMELS include the obviousness of the research results, and also that the pattern allows to comprehensively embrace all aspects of the activities of a bank establishment. The disadvantages include the subjective nature of the assessment.
