The article to theoretical and practical issues of ensuring the competitiveness of the production of alternative fuels from agricultural products, improving the efficiency of industry enterprises. The essence of economic categories “competition”, “competitiveness”, “product competitiveness” was defined. It is revealed that most developed countries of the world actively develop programs for the production and use of biofuels from plant raw materials. Our state is obliged to take into account the European standards for the use of biofuels in connection with the introduction in 2011 to the European Energy Community.
It was analyzed the market situation in Ukraine. The annual growth of fuel prices in April and September is revealed, which coincides with the main field operations in agriculture – sowing and harvesting companies.
The prospects of the use of crop production output waste for the manufacture of alternative fuel at farm enterprises in Ukraine were considered. The production of bioethanol is possible from starchy crops, in particular corn and wheat. However, due to the growing shortage of food in the world, the international community may ban the production of bioethanol from maize and wheat. By-products of sugar beet processing are not used directly for food, which proves the feasibility of using it for the production of bioethanol. It is advisable to produce biodiesel from rape for the own needs of agricultural enterprises, thereby reducing their dependence on market prices and the import of diesel fuel. The ecological and economic aspects of the production and use of bioethanol and biodiesel from agricultural products are determined.
It was defined the factors of competitiveness formation of alternative fuels in Ukraine. Under the condition of processing of molybdenum on bioethanol directly at sugar factories, it is possible to meet the demand for these products at a lower price and, in general, to increase the competitiveness of sugar industry enterprises. It was proved the necessity and the economic feasibility of the production and using of bioethanol and biodiesel in the context of agricultural development strategy in Ukraine.
